Construction proceeds on Phase Two of Village Station in Grayslake; award-winning model home adds excitement

GRAYSLAKE, IL – July 12, 2006 – The excitement continues to grow at Village Station, as Phase Two of the community is taking shape. Buyers have the dual advantage of preview pricing and model townhomes on display, including the award-winning Chicago.

Village Station, named for its close proximity to the Grayslake Metra train station, is being developed by Residential Homes of America, Inc. (RHA). The community of distinctive rowhouse-inspired townhomes has been so popular with buyers that Phase One sold out ahead of schedule, and a second phase of 72 townhomes has been introduced. Attractive preview pricing is still in effect, ranging from $204,990 to $253,990 for homes that include finished lower levels and two-car attached garages. First deliveries are planned for October and November of 2006.

“A new road is being put through to provide a second access to Route 120 to the north and homes are being constructed in the new section of the community,” said Ann Danner, president of RHA. “Many buyers who commute to Chicago are delighted that they can walk or bicycle to the station, and residents of Phase Two will also enjoy being within walking distance of a new 45-acre park being developed by the Grayslake park district. This park will include a wide variety of recreational opportunities.”

The new park is expected to be completed by fall of 2007, and will include five baseball and softball fields, four soccer fields, two tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts, two full-size basketball courts, a playground, fishing pier, concession and restroom building, three picnic shelters and paved paths, lighting and landscaping.

Village Station also includes a two-acre park that offers a focal point within the community. A walking path winds through the community and park, and a gazebo provides a peaceful destination to enjoy the open green space. The walking path connects to a regional trail.

Amid a lavishly landscaped country setting, four townhome designs boast distinctive rowhouse exteriors for homes that offer freedom from exterior maintenance. The floor plans vary from 1,471 to 1,944 square feet, with two bedrooms or two bedrooms and a loft; 2 ½ baths; finished lower levels with bonus rooms; and two-car attached garages.

A design that recently was honored for having the best interior among the homes on the Lake County Tour of Homes is the Chicago, priced from $235,990. Offering 1,808 square feet of space, the Chicago includes two bedrooms and a loft or optional third bedroom; 2 ½ baths; finished bonus room and two-car attached garage.

A dramatic great room is the centerpiece of the living area and the room may be accented with a look-through fireplace and bay window. An elegant formal dining room may have a bay window, and the look-through fireplace option defines the rooms. A sunny kitchen area is an inviting space for casual living. A serving peninsula and breakfast bar are inviting and the breakfast nook is flooded with light through sliding glass doors to the deck.

Upstairs, the master bedroom includes a large walk-in closet and private bath with double-bowl vanity. The second bedroom and loft or optional third bedroom are served by a hall bath. The finished bonus room on the lower level is ideal for a home theater, home office, family room or hobby area.

Quality features included in the price of the townhomes are nine-foot ceilings on the main floor; colonist trim; finished lower levels; brick and vinyl exteriors; decks; central air conditioning; pre-wiring for cable and phones; smoke detectors and storage space under the stairs in the lower level.

Buyers may personalize the homes with natural gas fireplaces, built-in entertainment centers, bay windows, electric garage door openers, deluxe front elevations, their choice of cabinets and flooring, ceiling fan outlets, mirrored closet doors, security systems, whirlpool tubs, refrigerators, microwave ovens, washers and dryers, self-cleaning ranges, oak stain packages and vaulted ceilings.

RHA includes a 2-10 warranty which covers each home for one year workmanship, two years for mechanical systems and 10 year structural.

Residential Homes of America, Inc. has been recognized for the highest standards of quality and integrity with the Diamond Builder Designation from the Home Buyers Warranty Corporation for its superior workmanship and spotless claims record. RHA was the only homebuilder in Illinois to receive the coveted award which is a one-time only, life-time award given only to those builders who have demonstrated at least a five-year track record of offering the highest standards of construction, design and customer service in their markets based on strict criteria.
