VILLAGE STATION RESIDENT ENJOYS CONVENIENCE OF WALKING TO TRAIN AND TAKING HER DOG TO ON-SITE PARK AT TOWNHOME COMMUNITY

Grayslake, IL - (July 17, 2007) - For Jennifer Capron, living at Village Station, Residential Homes of America’s (RHA) maintenance-free townhome community in north suburban Grayslake, is a real pleasure.  Jennifer enjoys a short walk to the Lake Street Metra station for her commute to downtown Chicago and also takes her golden retriever Chloe to the on-site park everyday for exercise.  RHA has recently debuted the second phase of 72 luxury courtyard style townhomes at Village Station, priced from the low $200s.  Decorated models are open for tours daily.

RHA offers four different floor plans at Village Station ranging in size from 1,471 to 1,944 square feet.  Designed as courtyard style homes with a ‘Lincoln Park’ look, the plans include two to three bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths, lofts, finished bonus rooms, private balconies or decks and attached rear-loading two-car garages.

Jennifer had been living in a condominium in downtown Chicago when she decided to move back to the suburbs to be closer to her family and get a larger home.  Everything about Village Station appealed to her, as this community was close to where she grew up in Vernon Hills, was located just a quarter mile from the Metra train station and had a beautiful park, which she knew would be perfect for the dog she was planning on getting.

“I knew I wanted to get a dog when I moved in and I got Chloe about a year ago as a puppy.  She’s 14-months old now and I take her to the park at Village Station everyday,” said Jennifer.  “She has a best friend, Cody, a husky that she likes to play with at the park.”

Jennifer selected the Berkshire plan, a spacious 1,619 square foot two bedroom home with 2-1/2 baths, separate living and dining rooms, a large eat-in kitchen and a luxury master suite with private bath and walk-in closet.  The finished lower level bonus space is Chloe’s room, which also accesses the two-car garage, making it easy for Jennifer and Chloe to enter after a day at the park.

Jennifer likes having a separate dining area on the main level of her home in addition to the breakfast room in the kitchen.  She specified the built-in desk that’s part of the breakfast area and uses this spot as her office.  The deck that is located off the breakfast room overlooks farmland that is adjacent to the community.

Her Berkshire townhome also features a huge walk-in corner pantry in the kitchen, a fireplace in the living room and a convenient second floor laundry room.  Jennifer uses her secondary bedroom upstairs for guests, which has easy access to the hall bath and hall linen closet.

The townhomes at Village Station have many included features, such as 9’ first floor ceilings, white painted colonist doors and trim, volume ceilings (per plan), first or second floor laundry rooms, central air conditioning plus a covered front porch and a rear deck or balcony.  The homes have a stylish exterior look with brick trim and rich architectural detailing.

The two-acre on-site park at Village Station is a short distance from Jennifer’s home and is part of a peaceful neighborhood atmosphere that also includes walking trails, a pond and a gazebo.  There are also 45-acres of park district property adjacent to the community, which has been planned to include sports fields and other amenities. 

Jennifer works downtown as a controller for a law firm and enjoys her quick walk to the Metra station on Lake Street.  She also likes being able to walk to historic downtown Grayslake that features antique lighting, old-fashioned storefronts and an assortment of nightspots and restaurants.

Her townhome at Village Station was the first new construction home she purchased and Jennifer has been very pleased with RHA’s quality of construction as well as the company’s responsive and caring attitude.

Jennifer knows most of her neighbors and sees many of the community’s other dog owners in the park when she’s there with Chloe.  There are many things she enjoys about living at Village Station, from her beautiful townhome, being able to walk to the train and the joy of spending time with Chloe at the park.
